Winter By Lynn Elder
Winter steals our blue skies
and replaces them with yearnings for wood fires.
When rain-drenched clouds
above the paddocks crowd
a sense of gloominess descends,
bringing a desire to seek out friends
to indulge in wine and song,
while the season of winter stays too long.
Nice poem, Lynn. Wish we could steal away some of your winter rain!

Thanks Betty. The last two winters here have been cold and wet. Not conducive for cycling and the such. Hope you guys get some relief from the heat and fire risks very soon. Lots of snow on our nearby mountain but no one allowed up there due to Lockdown No 5 here in Victoria. Numbers have gone down and all accounted for so maybe it will end on Tuesday 27th July.
